"Cr San Joan is a very quiet sleepy little access road off the main street leading up to the Capdepera Castle. The painting is trying to convey to the viewer a snapshot of what you would experience as you walked past on your way to the castle. It is a street you would feel comfortable walking past, but a little uncomfortable entering. I have tried to simplify the view whilst staying true to my realism format. The effect is that one can almost ‘feel the emptiness…'
