"Bamburgh Castle is the ancient seat of the Kings of Northumbria. From here, the northern borders of the Kingdom were protected. I just love the location of this castle right on the sea. It is fresh and wild. This painting is more about the feel of the location than the castle itself. I spent some time walking this windswept part of the coast to try to get the feeling of the place. Researching this painting was an amazing emotional experience."
