The ''Casa Blanca'' restaurant in the popular holiday resort of Cala d'Or on the southeast coast of Mallorca, sadly no longer exists. The restaurant holds a special place in my heart as it belonged to good friends of ours who have now retired. I painted this picture as a reminder of the moment we decided we wanted to emigrate to this paradise island. As we sat on the terrace tucking in to a delicious meal in the height of the summer, I remarked to my wife,
''Just imagine if we moved out here permanently, we could be sat here eating a meal and we wouldn't be on holiday"
Over a decade has passed and we are still here enjoying the delights of Mallorca's vibrant holiday scene.
This original oil on canvas was a complex piece for many reasons, but mainly due to the time consuming detail required.
