Cala s'Almunia in Mallorca, is one of the islands most visited beauty spots. So much so that they have had to expand the parking facilities. When I visited this stunning Cala, I was looking for an angle that would encompass the view and capture the perspective that creates such a unique and iconic image. The use of the large cactus in the foreground is an old master's trick to create a sense of depth and perspective.
The treatment is in the hyper-realism style, and I have, once again, used the traditional glazing techniques handed down to me by my old tutor R.P.Reynolds, a descendant of Sir Joshua Reynolds, the founding president of the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
