Cala Burgit has always been a favourite spot for me, not only because of the great views over the Mediterranean sea from the coastal path, but because of the particular type of light refraction here. The depth of approximately 35ft, accentuates the turquoise end of the spectrum during the summer months. Here, cobalt turquoise, in particular, is especially difficult to capture in oil paint.
During the winter months, when the sun-worshippers have gone home, and the sprinkling of local residence remaining in this little corner of paradise turn to snuggling up in front of a cosy log burner, the park settles down to a comfortable stillness interspersed by a symphony of bird song.
