The sun rising over the 'Cap Des Moro on Mallorca's south eastern coast, is a stunning location for a painting. What struck me the most about the sea here, was the salinity fluctuation that affects the surface currents. It creates incredible patterns that I have found to be a most enjoyable challenge to capture.
This original oil on canvas, is painted using the traditional layered glazing techniques of the old Italian Masters to achieve extra depth and intensity of light.
