The bay of Alcudia, is located approximately 60 kilometres north of the capital city of Palma on the paradise island of Mallorca. The stunning 10 km long white sandy beach is a very popular resort to visit. Alcudia is generally known as the largest of the touristic holiday resorts in Mallorca.
The attraction for me though, was it's northern location on the island. This spot is perfect to witness the sun going down on the island. In my attempt to capture this spectacle, I have had to mix all the individual colours of the light spectrum. The big challenge here in particular was to portray the way these tonal values reflect on the distant landscape.
I have added a special glaze to the paint on application to enhance the translucent effect.
