The stunning little cove or 'calo' in Spanish of s'Torre in Porto Petro, is a little corner of paradise tucked away from the tourist trail on the south east corner of Mallorca. The picturesque fishing village, a 5 minute walk from this beach, with its own marina full of traditional fishing boats, is an absolute must for visitors to this part of the island.
My wife and I often visit this little beach in the winter when the tourists have gone home.
Capturing a sense of depth and perspective in this painting was the challenge.
I have added the pigments of paint to the canvas suspended in a dammar varnish glaze to enhance the translucency of the painting.
