This stunning little corner of paradise is located on the northern part of the island of Mallorca.

To access the Torrent de Pareis beach, you have to go through two tunnels dug into the rock that keep the mystery of what you are going to find until the last moment. In one of them there is a crack from which you get a wonderful gift for the senses. After the cut in the rock, the sea extends with an unmatched blue colour of different shades.

Once you have gone through the tunnel, you find the cove of Sa Calobra, surrounded by the steep and endless rock walls of the torrent, forming a peculiar landscape capable of making anyone who visits it feel small.

Despite the majesty of the surroundings and its crystal-clear waters that are dressed in turquoise, the cove of Sa Calobra is not the best option to spend a day at the beach, despite its unreal-looking surroundings, the floor is made of rocks, it does not have any type of service, and is somewhat small.

Many hiking and nature lovers decide to descend the Torrent de Pareis on foot, but this is an option that is only recommended for experienced hikers, as it is not an easy route.

During the first week of July, the Torrent de Pareis dresses up to host an amazing open-air concert in which the sounds of music resonate between each of the corners of the cliff to create a magical spectacle, so if you are planning to travel to Mallorca during those dates, it may be an option to consider.

I have used the old and trusted techniques of layering glazes of paint in order to achieve translucency.

The painting is the second of a pair of paintings of Sa Calobra.
