Many years ago I had an art dealer in Surrey, UK. I decided I should at least capture him in action in a portrait. This sketch is one of the preliminary studies for the portrait.
As I recall, he seemed to spend most of his days in his beautiful gallery pondering over his vast collection of masterpieces. Sadly we parted company when I moved my studio to Mallorca.
However, I have fond memories of visiting his gallery, spending many hours chatting over tea and biscuits, whilst picking up tip-bits of information from the collection of old masters displayed on the walls.
